Complete Guide to Digital Cameras, Digital Photography, and
Digital Video -
This site includes the 'Short Course' series of electronic books
on Nikon, Olympus, Canon, and other digital cameras which include
courses such as 'A Short Course in Choosing a Digital Camera', 'A
Short Course in Editing Digital Photos', and 'A Short Course in
How Do I Do That?', as well as a glossary, a digital camera
bookstore, tips for choosing a digital camera, digital video
information, and links to other Web sites on digital
photography.

Digital Camera Index -
Greenough's Digital Camera Index; A Guide to Consumer Digital
Cameras; Includes links to reviews and information; manufacturers;
and retailers. This site is entirely nonprofit and

- The DLC is a collection of information, tips and techniques on
Digital Imaging.
- Digital
Learning Center PLUS
- The DLC Plus contains chapters filled with information about
various real life picture taking scenarios. Discover how and why
people are using their photographs in everyday life. Some chapters
even include interactive games to help you learn more about
digital photography. Includes a chapter for Youth/Teens with ideas
for enhancing school reports with graphics and photographs; a
chapter for teachers which provides information, and suggestions
for helping your students use digital images and computers to
enhance reports and increase creativity; and others.
- The
Online Digital Course
- The Digital Courses will show you what you need for digital
photography and how it works. Lessons include: Taking pictures
with a digital camera; using a scanner; the digital darkroom; and
printing photos.
- Digital
Camera Reviews and News
- Provides news, reviews and information about digital photography
and digital imaging. The site includes a digital camera timeline,
forums, galleries, a glossary and a learn section as well as news
updates and in-depth digital camera product reviews.
- Photo
Course in Digital Photography
- This free, online course teaches digital photography, while
paying homage to the masters who have used different technologies
over the past 150 years. It is a community project with
contributions from leaders in the field of digital imaging.

- This site includes an extensive list of links to digital camera
resources on the web.
- Webopedia
- Online encyclopedia dedicated to computer technology; explains
digital cameras with links to related terms.
- Digital
Camera Feature Comparison Matrix
- This page is currently under constuction. In the past, it had
links to detailed reviews with actual sample images. It was a
quick comparison matrix which included features, specifications,
and prices of most brands/makes/models of digital cameras. The web
page says they will be offering a new, revamped Features Matrix
soon!
- Sony

- This page includes the Frequently Asked Questions regarding
problems with the Sony Mavica Digital Cameras. (Must be viewed
using Internet Explorer)
- Digital
Camera Buyer's Guide
- This site includes a Step-by-Step Decision-Making Guide, which
helps you decide which digital camera is right for you (it appears
to be unbiased). It takes some time to go through the process, but
it seems to cover the features that you would want to consider -
and it does a really good job of explaining what each of the
choices means. If you're serious about purchasing a camera I think
it would be worth the time it takes to complete all of the
steps....a good starting point.

- This is a website (free service) that compares products, prices,
and stores (on the web). It lists deals from the online stores
that have what you're looking for at the best available
prices.

- Includes information on how to use a digital camera (refers to
the Kodak DC50); Using a digital camera for lesson design; Using a
digital camera for Web creation; and links to digital camera
resources.
- Tools
for the Teks: Digital Photos Online
- This article describes several ways to share digital photographs
with others on the Internet, using free online services and
software available to all educators connected to the information
superhighway. Equipped with the proper equipment and these
techniques, teachers can almost record and share classroom events
in 'real time.'
- Digital
Photography and the K-12 Educator
- This site is from a presentation given at FETC (Florida
Educational Technology Conference) in 1999. It was updated in
April 2000, and includes information about equipment, trends,
classroom applications, release forms, tips, and
advantages/disadvantages.

- This site is designed as a reference tool putting educators in
touch with creative educational applications for digital cameras

- The focus of this site is to provide information on the digital

process. It includes advantages/disadvantages, uses in general as
well as uses with special populations such as ESE, ESOL and
science labs, a sample lesson plan, and links to articles and
additional resources.

- Multimedia

This site, which is designed and hosted by the FDLRS Resource
Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
at Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, includes an
abundance of multimedia resources and information. Although lesson
plans and projects were developed for hearing impaired students,
they work equally well for all students.

- Pics4Learning
- Pics4Learning is a copyright-friendly image library for teachers
and students. The Pics4Learning collection consists of thousands
of images that have been donated by students, teachers, and
amateur photographers. Images in the Pics4Learning collection may
be used by teachers and students in print, multimedia, and video
productions.
